Get Your Rear in Gear – Tucson

February 24 @ 7:30 am - 11:00 am

Celebrate cancer survivors, support caregivers, and remember those who left us too soon. The 5K course takes runners and walkers through the Omni Tucson National Resort golf course to preview the 2019 Cologuard Classic, a stop on the PGA TOUR Champions.

Join runners, walkers, colorectal cancer survivors, and caregivers are expected to join together in the fight against the nation’s No. 2 cancer killer: colon cancer. Get Your Rear in Gear® – Tucson is part of the 2019 Cologuard Classic and is planned in partnership with the Tucson Conquistadores. This family-friendly 5K run/walk raises awareness and encourages screening for this largely preventable cancer.

Participants can also stroll through a giant inflatable colon and see what a doctor sees during a colonoscopy – from a healthy colon wall to how a polyp progresses from harmless into stage IV colorectal cancer. Walk the Blue Mile and see tributes to those lost and messages honoring survivors of colon and rectal cancer. The Timed 5K Run begins at 7:45, followed immediately by the 5K Walk. Join post-race festivities at the 19th Hole Pavilion, enjoy food, drinks, and the awards ceremony. The registration fee also includes one general admission ticket for the Cologuard Classic.
