Q: Where were you born?

St. Louis, Missouri. I came to Arizona at age 12 when my family moved here

Q: How did you become interested in your career field?

I’ve always enjoyed working with people, working toward accomplishing goals and helping others. I have had three careers and they all included these elements.

Q: What is the biggest challenge of your job?

To provide the best services and listening materials for our Sun Sounds listeners, working with my colleagues, our volunteers and community partners.

Q: What is the greatest reward of your job?

Bringing information, inspiration and happiness to our listeners who have disabilities that prevent them from reading conventional print.

Q: Do you have any family members in Tucson?

My daughter who is blind and my younger sister.

Q: Where would you like to vacation next and why?

A long weekend in the White Mountains would be nice. The smell of the pines and the overall ambience would be restful.

Q: What was the last book you read and what did you enjoy most about it?

Go Up For Glory by basketball great Bill Russell. It’s his memoir about the segregation he faced even as a star pro athlete.

Q: When you have time, what is your favorite TV show to binge watch

I’m a news show geek, but I also like old sitcoms and Westerns.

Q: What is your favorite food indulgence?

Mexican food.

Quality time with my daughter and two dogs.
