Beer’s To Ya!

The temps certainly make it tempting this month to find a place that provides a cool atmosphere, tasty food and a selection of craft brews. We looked around the city to select four places that offer both locally brewed beer (in its many forms) and food. Three of the eateries have full restaurant options, and the fourth has food trucks that regularly drop by so that patrons can enjoy a bite with their brew. Read about what they have on tap by turning to page 35.

To make your summer a little more refreshing, we’re offering the opportunity for two lucky readers to each win a $100 gift card to Sentinel Peak Brewing Company, Borderlands Brewing Co., Barrio Brewing Co. and Gentle Ben’s Brewing Co. For details, and to enter to win, visit www.TucsonLifestyle.com.

From Fourth of July celebrations, to baseball, to Highland games, there is a lot to see and do around the state in July and August. We’ve rounded up an eclectic list of activities, as well as presented previews of both Invisible Theatre’s Sizzling Summer Sounds concert series, and the Phoenix Mercury’s home games. Arizona Summer Pleasures will get you excited to hit the road, beginning on page 21.

In this issue, you’ll also notice two cities that we’ve highlighted for travel: Scottsdale, Arizona, and Ventura, California. Though very different in many ways, both destinations offer fun adventures, whether you’re traveling alone or with family members. Our Scottsdale coverage starts on page 30, and Ventura is on page 32.

Morning hikes, bike rides and tennis are on the agendas of numerous Tucsonans in July, and it’s a safe bet that many of them haven’t assessed their risk of fractures due to osteoporosis. Our In Health article, starting on page 46, will fill you in on current diagnostic methods and treatments.
