Sizzle In Style
Fashion heats up this time of year, perhaps because the less we wear, the more we have to scrutinize each decision. Picking the perfect shoes, shorts, tops, or swimwear can be daunting, especially if you haven’t been paying attention to trends. We asked Monica Barker of Ten Outfits Wardrobe & Consulting to highlight what’s hot in summer fashion, and Tom Spitz to photograph Bridgette modeling her picks at the new AC Hotel. You’re likely to find something to inspire you in this feature, which begins on page 36.
Speaking of things that can be hot, we Tucsonans definitely love Mexican food in its many incarnations. The Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance (SAACA) is presenting the Tucson 23 Mexican Food Festival on June 16. To honor the designation that the Old Pueblo has the best 23 miles of Mexican food eateries in the nation, we have selected six of the places that will participate in the festival to showcase, beginning on page 120.
There is a lot more to see and do around the state, and we have rounded up events and attractions in Flagstaff, Tombstone, and many points in between in our Arizona Summer Pleasures, beginning on page 27.
Maybe your future plans include a wedding. Turn to page 89 to see 10 local weddings whose details will present you with ideas, and read about what amenities are offered at local venues.
This issue also is a keeper because we present our annual Top Doctors list, compiled by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., headquartered in New York City. There are more than four dozen categories for physicians, so no matter what specialty you are looking for, the chances are you’ll likely find it. The methodology and list begin on page 45.
